GIGS THAT NEVER HAPPENED
During the lifetime of the band, there were many instances of gigs that fell through. Reasons for cancellations were many, sometimes there were double bookings, and occasionally illness and incompetence were to blame. Listed below is a fairly comprehensive list of all Blitzkrieg Bop gigs that never happened, and the reason if known. If an exact date isn’t known the month only is shown. Gigs which did happen, but where the headlining band were changed (eg: The Newcastle Guildhall gig on 23/12/77, where JOHN OTWAY and THE YACHTS were both pencilled in) are outside the scope of this list.

29th April 1977 - BON LEA PUB, THORNABY (according to John, the landlord made a mistake with the date, according to Alan, they couldn’t play because Mick was at a Peter Gabriel gig in Manchester. nb:- This gig would have happened five days before the band changed their name to Blitzkrieg Bop)
